At the NANOCON´17 conference Dr. Stanislav Kamba will present the invited lecture at the Session A – Nanomaterials for Electronic, Magnetic and Optic Applications, Carbon Nanostructures, Quantum Dots.


Biography, Education and Employment:
Stanislav Kamba graduated from Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University Prague (1985). In 1992 he defenced of PhD thesis Study of the lattice dynamics in strongly anharmonic dielectrics and high Tc superconductors, Institute of Physics of the CAS, Prague (CZ). Then he worked 8 months as the post-doc at ETH Zürich, Switzerland (Study of the systems with heavy fermions). In the period 1993-1995 he spent 18 months as the post-doc at the University of Würzburg, Germany (Prof. Schaack) - Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (High-pressure infrared, Raman and dielectric studies of phase transitions in tartrates). In the period 1998-2000 he was a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Physics, ASCR, Prague (CZ ). Since 2009 he is the head of the group of phonon and dielectric spectroscopy at the Institute of Physics, ASCR.

In the period 2007-2010 Dr. Kamba was a member of the Committee in the Czech Science Foundation. Since 2009 he is a member of the Committee of doctoral student program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague (CZ). In the year 2013 he worked at the Publication chair at Joint UFFC, EFTF and PFM Symposium in Prague (2000 participants). He is member of advisory board of three international conferences (MMA, Electroceramics, AMF).

He has been supervisor of 3 bachelor’s, 2 diploma and 3 PhD. thesis.


Research interests:
Dielectric spectroscopy from 10 mHz to 150 THz, infrared, THz and Raman spectroscopy, phonons, inelastic neutron scattering, structural phase transitions, soft modes, ferroelectrics and relaxor ferroelectrics, magnetic properties, microwave ceramics, multiferroics, magnons and electromagnons.

Since 1996 he has been a principal investigator of three projects of the Grant Agency of Academy of Sciences, four projects of the Czech Science Foundation, one project of Ministry of Trade and Industry and three projects of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.


Publication activity:
He is author and co-author of 212 scientific publications in impacted journals and six chapters in the books. According to the Web of Science, 47 papers in impacted journals since 2011. Since 2006, 47 invited lectures presented at top international conferences.

More than 4000 citations without self-citations; H-index 38.
